Who's Harassed Whom?

I was dismayed by the malicious assault against my character by Denise Llewellyn at the April 25th, NRH City Council meeting.  We met during last year’s election and supported the same candidates then.  I noticed she was supporting the incumbents this year and genially asked her what had changed her mind.  She reported the change of loyalty was due primarily to promises made to her by city officials relating to her late son’s car.  She claimed she was granted immunity from ordinances that would yield citations for other residents were they to own an identical vehicle.  Ms. Llewellyn did most of the talking in our brief encounter and I was cordial at all times.  I did ask a question or two along the way.  Was it fair for the city to selectively enforce ordinances on some residents and excuse others?  She thought that it was in her case.  Shouldn’t her next door neighbor have the same rights she did?  She said that was not her concern.

I have never taken issue with Ms. Llewellyn’s car or her support for any candidate, regardless of whom it is.  On the contrary, I fought hard last year to insure that her right to keep the car was protected and would do so again.  It is unfortunate that this fact is not apparent to her and that she so easily dismisses the plight of those around her.

Her effort to educate kids about the dangers of street racing is a valuable service.  I empathize with her grief over the loss of her son.  However, there is no truth to her claim of harassment.  Her desire to protect her son’s memory should not require her to make false statements about me - unless it is a condition of the special status she was promised.

See the LNO Report on the 4/25/05 NRH City Council Meeting for more information on the environment surrounding the allegation.

Vote not for sale
We have been deeply hurt by some of Mr. Kerry West statements and comments . We are sorry if he misunderstood or mistook any statement made by us. We only vote our conscious and will continue to do so. Our votes or support are not for sale. Never was nor ever will be and urge other citizens to do the same. For the greater good of our community we urge both sides to work together on issues concerning our city of NRH to further enhance a wonderful community. In the long run we will all benefit as citizens. Sincerely David Tober and Denise Llewellyn
NRH

I find it fascinating that I am accused of misunderstanding Ms. Llewellyn's clearly spoken statement (which she does not deny making) and yet she made no effort to understand my intent before she announced her harassment charge at a staged political rally disguised as a City Council meeting.

It is not my intention to harm Ms. Llewellyn, even now, despite her attempt to defame me.  This page exists for one reason and one reason only - self defense.  Perhaps Mr. Tober and Ms. Llewellyn should consider the harm they have caused by making the false allegation in the first place.  I do agree with them that we should be working together for the good of all.  That has always been my intent and I will continue to work toward that goal - even for the benefit of Ms. Llewellyn and her son's car.
